Introduction

The contribution of computer science to education has always been significant. Artificial intelligence has invariably aided both professors and students, from robotic teaching to the development of an autonomous method for answer sheet analysis. Scholars have conducted extensive research on various analytical advances that have been used around the world, such as computer science approaches applied to the education sector, highlighting the importance of artificial intelligence in research in Nigeria. It is against this background that this article seeks to examine the role of artificial intelligence in research in Nigeria especially when working on Computer science research topics for final year students.

The study of intelligent computers and software that can think, learn, gather knowledge, communicate, manipulate, and see objects is referred to as artificial intelligence. Artificial intelligence is a branch of computer science concerned with the creation of intelligent systems, or systems that display qualities associated with intelligence in human behavior. Most researchers described AI as the use of a vast volume of data in conjunction with computational capacity to replicate human intellectual capacities such as reasoning, language processing, perception, vision recognition, and spatial processing. Preparing students for the necessity of employing AI in their studies is critical since it will assist them in their class assessments and mini-projects. Although most students are comfortable with digital technology by the time they reach school age, teaching them how to use AI in their studies will force them to thrive in a digital job environment.
